    a group of glands that work together to secrete hormones around the body
  • How does the releasing of hormones work?
    A signal is received in the hypothalamus which is processed by the pituitary gland and to release either hormone into the bloodstream directly or instruct the release of the appropriate hormone to the correct gland, once levels are regulated, the hypothalamus sends a signal to the pituitary gland to stop releasing hormones
  • What is Adrenaline released/ controlled by?
    Produced by the Adrenal Medulla in the adrenal glands, located behind the kidney
  • What is the function of Adrenaline?
    Triggers the body fight or flight response, INCREACES heartrate, strength and performance, and heightens awareness
