  • Synapse - where two neurons come close enough to each other to send chemical signals to each other
  • Synaptic Cleft/Gap - space in between the dendrites of one neuron and the axon terminals of another
  • Presynaptic Neuron is the one with the axon terminals and the Postsynaptic Neuron is the one with the dendrites
  • In the Presynaptic Neuron, the Neurotransmitters are packed into Vesicles; which get excited by the action potential, fussing with the presynaptic membrane and release into the synaptic cleft. After this, the neurotransmitters interact with receptors in the postsynaptic neuron
