Conscious Responses

Cards (3)

    1. Stimulus - interacts with us in some way
    2. Receptors - sensory receptors pickup the change
    3. Sensory Neurons - in the PNS send the message via afferent pathways to the spinal cord and the brain
    4. Interneurons - in the spinal cord relay this information to the brain and from the brain to motor neurons
    5. Motor Neurons - via the efferent pathway take the message from the CNS to the PNS area needed (e.g organ)
    6. Response - Effector reacts (e.g organ)
  • Conscious responses involve awareness and are usually voluntary and have some degree of control over it
  • Conscious responses are often learnt behaviours, and requires the brain to make a choice
