Sex determination

• If an individual has one X and one Y chromosome, they will be male (XY)
• If an individual has two X chromosomes, they will be female (XX)
• Humans contain 23 set of chromosomes
• The first 22 set are autosomes (body genes) and the last 23rd set is called gonosomes
• Gonosomes determine sex - XX = Female, XY = Male
• Red-green color blindness is a disease which cause the person to be unable to distinguish between red and green color. This disease is linked to X chromosome.
• R is healthy allele and r is color blind allele
