  • How did succession for monarchs of England change?
    It went from a simple father-to-son succession to a much  more complicated hunt for a Protestant relative to the  current monarch.
  • How did the power of  Parliament change?
    In 1649 Parliament executed the monarch at the end of  the English Civil War. However, Cromwell ignored them and  acted like a monarch. After the Glorious Revolution they  had the power to choose the monarch.
  • How did relations between England and  Scotland change?
    The United Kingdom was formed in the Acts of Union,  1706-1707, making them into one country instead of two  countries that shared a monarch.
  • How did religion change?

    The United Kingdom was now definitely a Protestant  country, with laws passed to prevent Catholics
