define the following terms

• selvedge - the tight sides of the fabric
• grainline - the way the fabric is woven into.
• stitch plate - the metal plate where you place your fabric where you sew.
• notch - the different shaped parts where you are cutting your patterns.
• place on the fold arrow - to show you to put your fabric against the fold.\
• presser foot - the metal part of the sewing machine that is placed onto your fabric when you start to sew.
• take up lever - the lever that pulls up the presser foot.
