    • the flower, e.g Erythrina is brightly coloured to attract insects
    • it has a sweet scent, it produces nectar as food for the insects
    • the pollen is sticky so that it can easily stick to the insect's body
    • stamens and stigma are positioned inside the flower to ensure that the pollen on the insect's body can rub off onto the sticky stigma while it searches for nectar
    • Some insect-pollinated flowers have nectar guides- lines that are not visible to human eyes, directing insects to the nectar deep inside the flower
