The Nature of God

• A person who believes that God exists is known as a Theist.
• Catholics believe that God is one, perfect Supreme Being, who is the creator of all things.
• Catholics believe that God is omnipotent meaning they believe that He can do anything and isn't limited in any way. He has power over all things at all times.
• Catholics believe that God is omnibenevolent meaning that He is a loving God and everything about Him is good. However, some philosophers have asked the question 'If God is all-loving, why does evil exist?'
• Catholics believe that God is omniscient meaning that He has knowledge of all things even before they happen. Catholics believe He has a plan for every individual and the universe as a whole.
• The Bible teaches that God is both omnipresent, meaning that he is present everywhere at all times, and transcendent, meaning that he is above all things and outside of His creation.
