  • FICTION - is literature form of prose , especially short storues and novels
  • Key elements of fiction - Character, Setting, Plot, Conflict, Point of View, and Theme
  • CHARACTERS - are the people or animals that make things happen in fiction
  • FLAT CHARACTERS - do not play important role in the stories. They remained the same throughout the story. often one or two traits only.
  • ROUND CHARACTERS- are fully developed characters as opposed to flat characters, , they tend tobe dynamic who undergo changes in the story.
  • PROTAGONIST - main character in the story. usually hero at the end of the story. possesses good traits.
  • Antagonist - usually bad guy,.oppose tk protagonist
  • Setting - Presents the time, place , weather and season. it helps create mood or the general feeling of the story.
    it includes the following:
    1. Time and Place
    2. Sociological, Cultural, Political, Religious
    3. Responsibilities that lead to specific models
  • PLOT - sequence of interrelated actions or events that makes up a story. The plot usually follows a particular structure called Freytag's pyramid. Gustav Freytag, A german playwright who lived during 1800s who proposed the pyramid
