• Food Banks - Trussell Trust -

  • The Trussell Trust is a charity with a nationwide network of over 400 foodbanks
  • They are often found in local churches
  • It is based on Christian principles such as those found in the Parable of the Sheep and the Goat
• Salvation Army -

  • This organises itself like the military, only its war is against sin and poverty
  • Its members are soldiers of Christ and they wear a uniform
  • Its work includes helping the homeless, drug rehabilitation, reuniting families, stopping human trafficking, slavery, charity shops for cheap clothing and nurseries and playgroups.
• Housing Justice Cymru -

  • Housing Justice Cymru aims to give everyone access to a suitable home
  • It aims to create affordable homes from the sale of disused churches
  • It works with the Church in Wales to achieve this
• Shelter Cymru -

  • Shelter Cymru is the Welsh version of the housing charity Shelter
  • Its aim is that everyone in Wales should have a decent, affordable home
  • It provides advice to those who have no home or live in poor housing
  • It works with councils to challenge bad landlords and campaigns to influence laws to improve housing in Wales
