  • logical fallacies - is an error in reasoning that occurs when invalid arguments or irrelevant points are introduced without any evidence to support them.
  • red herring - attempts to distract from the meain issue by bringng in irrelevant info
  • ad hominem - attempts to discredit an argument by attacking the source
  • bandwagon - occurs when we base the validity of our argument on how many people believe or do the same things as we do.
  • false choice - oversimplifies a limitless number of options to only two.
  • hast generalization - draws a broad, sweeping conclusion based on a small sample
  • slippery slope- argues an action will lead to a chain of events, resulting in undersirable ad extreme consequences
  • false cause fallacy - assumes that because two things occured together one must have caused the other
