  In the founding story of Christianity Jesus plays a pivotal role. The teachings of his life, death and resurrection is the foundation to Christianity. Jesus plays a part in the founding story through his teachings which can be found in the New Testament’ his teaching centre on love, forgiveness and compassion.

  Before Jesus began public ministry he was baptised in the Jordan River by John the Baptist this is significant, as Christians uphold this by getting baptised right after their birth. Jesus’ sacrificial death is understood as means through human sins are forgiven. Jesus did this to the atone for mankind’s sins. Jesus’s resurrection represents victory over sin. Jesus’ resurrection opened the way for salvation of humanity.
