There was opposition due to the economic slump eg the lena goldfields massacre in April 1912 after a strike in Northeast Siberia due to harsh working conditions
Worker opposition was successful. There were efforts to placate the workers with Zubatov Unions and the October Manifesto
In 1904 there was a major strike at the PutilovIronWorks, which escalated to 100 thousand workers
In january 1905 alone, 400 thousand workers went on strike across Russia. Workers began to form Soviets to demand better working conditions
1000 workers were killed in a Moscow uprising following the october manifesto publication.
Up to 15 thousand were executed between October 1905 and April 1906 and 45 thousand exiled
