  • Making policy decisions - determining how legislation will be implimented, often done through secondary legislation
  • Proposing a budget - annual budget announcment made my the chancellor of the exchequer, statements responding to emergency circumstances
  • Running domestic policy - determining services for population
  • Conducting foreign policy - through meetings such as NATO, treaties, agreements, military actions

  • Chairing cabinet meetings and setting up cabinet committees, determining length and agenda
