  • Different sports require different clothing and equipment. For example, a goalkeeper requires goalkeeping gloves or a runner requires running shoes or spike shoes
  • Some activities use different clothing types like runners have lighter, thinner clothing and ice hockey player have thick and heavy clothing
  • If a sportsperson didn't wear the correct clothing or footwear they could risk injury because they wouldn't be able to perform to their best or other players might hurt them
  • Correct clothing can prevent injuries by providing protection from impact with hard surfaces or objects
  • Wearing appropriate clothing helps reduce friction between skin and surface which reduces blistering and chafing
  • Clothing that is too tight restricts movement and increases the chance of muscle strain
