Brain

• Three main parts of the eye:

  • Cerebral cortex
  • Cerebellum
  • Medulla
• Cerebral cortex:

  • it is the outer 'wrinkled' part of the brain
  • it is responsible for: intelligence, memory, language and consciousness
• Cerebellum:

  • located at the lower part of the back of the brain
  • it is responsible for voluntary movement of muscles
• Medulla:

  • it is the lower part of the brain stem
  • it is responsible for involuntary coordination e.g. breathing, heart rate, etc.
