• What are the three types of muscles?

  • Cardiac muscle
  • Skeletal muscle

• What are features of cardiac muscles?

  • Only found in the heart
  • We cannot control the cardiac muscles
  • Requires the use of oxygen
  • Helps blood flow around the body
  • Not attached to a bone
• What are the features of a skeletal muscle?

  • Most common muscle
  • We can control it
  • The brain controls their movements
  • Helps with our movement as muscles attach to bones
• What are the smooth muscles?

  • Works without us knowing
  • An example is the intestines
  • Aids with digestion
  • Do not fatigue
• What is origin and insertion?

  • The origin is the attachment that doesn't move during contraction.
  • The insertion is the attachment that does move when the muscle contracts.
• What are agonists and antagonists?

  • Agonist is the muscle that is contracting while the other is relaxing.
  • Antagonist is the muscle that is relaxed while the other is working.
