    • Chinas gov control policy discouraged couples from having more than one child
    • WILSON: policy is supervised by workplace family planning committees; women mums seek permission to try and become pregnant, and there is often a waiting list and a quota for each factory.
    • Couples who comply get free child healthcare and higher tax allowances.
    • Coupkes ho have more than one child will need to pay a fine and just repay the allowances. Also women face pressure to undergo sterilisation after their first child.
  • Nazi family policy
    Two fold
    • 375000 disabled people sterilised, and many later killed
    • Healthy and supposedly ‘racially pure‘ encouraged to breed a ‘master race’ so restricted abortion and contraception. - Women kept to children, kitchen & church.
  • Communist Romania
    • Marriage age lowered to 15
    • stricter divorce
    • banned contraception & abortion
    • IVF made free
    • less tax for married couples
