    • Liquids and gases take the shape of their container because the particles are free to move around because there are weak forces between the particles.
    • solids: particles are order close together and they only vibrate on the spot
    • liquid: they are touching some of there neigbering atoms and they move fairly freely.
    • gas: there particals don't touch they also can move around freely
    • gas to solid: deposition
    • solid to gas: sublimation
    • gas to liquid: condensation
    • liquid to gas: boiling or evaporation
    • solid to liquid: melting
    • liquid to solid: freezing or solidifiying
    • the point between liquid and solid is the melting point
    • the point between liquid and gas is the boiling point
    • the change of states are a physical change as they are a change of apperance
    • a chemical change is when a substance changings into something completely new with a new chemical formula
