Superclass Crustacea

• Can be found in marine, freshwater, or terrestrial environments (ranked from the most common to least)
• Body is divided into 2 regions: the head and the trunk (thorax and abdomen with biramous legs)
• The head is covered by a carapace with 10 pairs of appendages (antennules, antennae, mandibles, and the rest maxillae)
• The trunk consists of the thorax and the abdomen
• The thorax is covered with a carapace externally segmented with several peraeopods (walking legs).
• The abdomen has pleopods (swimmerets) and terminates with telson
