  • Surgery has been used to modify behaviour, including to reduce criminality
  • Surgical Castration of sex offenders was used in USA and Denmark, but results have been inconclusive
  • Lobotomies- used to cut the connections between frontal lobes of the brain and thalamus. It has been used to treat paranoid schizofrenia and sexually motivated crimes, but side effects are serious.
