Biological Theories influencing policy

• The problem with policies influenced by biological theories of criminality is that no policy of crime control based on biology will work as it is not an effective explanation of crime
• Evaluation:

  • Eugenics have led to evil acts throughout Society
  • There is not enough evidence to suggest there is anything genetic that causes criminality
  • Lobotomies are controversial since they are irreversible and high risk is involved.
  • Drugs like Antabuse cause illness in those using them
  • There is little science to explain any possible link between diet and criminality
  • Theres no guarantee getting someone off heroin or alcohol will stop criminality.
