• Lack of maintenance in recent years has resulted in the accumulation of silt and the growth of vegetation, creating excellent habitats for birds but the impressive view of the lake from the house has been lost
• Restoration of the lake took place in 2014 to restore the lake as part of the landscape and to preserve and improve its function as a habitat for birds
• Following its restoration, the lake can be seen from the house and has become a healthy ecosystem for a diverse range of wildlife
