Social Injustice

• the cratchit family are perfect examples of why social injustice is a theme in the novella because they are treated so badly by scrooge and other employers even though they are loyal and hardworking

• scrooge declining donating for the poor at christmas
• bob cratchit is not paid as well as he should be by scrooge
• Belinda Cratchit works at a hat factory even though she is too young to and a women and is paid very little too even for long unfair hours
• Peter Cratchit is also suffering in his workplace as his father said he will help find a "better situation" for him
