• Establish response: 11 mo 3 days

  A presented with rat and as he touched it, steel bar struck (joint stimulation). Then bar struck when he touched rat again
• test response 11 mo 10 days

  presented with white rat to see if experience before affected response

  JS 3 times before rat presented alone

  JS again then rat alone again
• generalisation 11 mo 15 days

  conditioned emotional response tested w other objects to see if it transferred - blocks first, alternately presenting rat and blocks

  then with rabbit, fur coat, cotton wool and Santa Claus mask
• changing environment. 11 mo 20 days

  A presented with blocks then rat

  As rat placed on hand, bar struck

  presented with rat then rabbit then blocks

  Freshened response to rabbit and dog by striking bar

  Moved research to large lecture room and presented rat rabbit and dog
