the results of this research emphasise the importance of establishing a strong bond between the primary caregiver and child
parents are entitled to time off work following the birth of their child.
more recently, in 2015, parents are now entitled to share this parental leave and can share the 52 weeks.
this means that the mother can return to work and the father can use the time off work to care for their child
the change in the maternity leave is a huge societal shift from the traditional view that the mother should be a stay-at-home housewife
