Overall, even though McMurphy’s courage and fight against rebellion lead to his death, he leaves a large impact on the ward. He instils a sense of rebellion among the patients, motivating them to oppose Nurse Ratched's authority and stand up for themselves. He gave his power to all the patients in his death, he was a true saviour to the men. He is a symbol of freedom and hope, which teaches readers that they should never give up and good can always overcome evil.
