  • STEWARDSHIP - God gave humans the responsibility of stewardship
  • DOMINION - Genesis teaches that God made humans to be superior to the rest of creation
  • RESPONSIBILITY - Stewardship and dominion come with responsibility; the world is previous, valuable and should be looked after. Christians believe creation is AMAZING. This evokes AWE AND WONDER.
• Islamic beliefs about the value of the world


  • KHALIFAH / STEWARDSHIP - The Qur'an teaches humans are on Earth as vicegerents (representatives of God). The world does not belong to humans; they have a duty to be good stewards and care for it.
  • RESPONSIBILITY - Muslims believe the world is a gift but it ultimately belongs to God (Surah 30:26).
  • DOMINION - Humans are God's successors (Surah 35:39).
