Exercise 7.2 - Angeiosperms in Water

    Cards (5)

    • Some angiosperms near marine water resources are the halophilic mangroves and their associates.
    • These plants are angiosperms that are distinguished from each other based on leaf litter, leaf traits, and salt content
    • Mangroves may belong to these families:
Rhizophoraceae, Acanthaceae, Lythraceae, Combretaceae, and Arecaceae.
    • Seagrasses, on one hand, are marine-dwelling angiosperms that have reduced morphology, which makes taxonomic classification very challenging.
    • A total of 8 species as local examples of seagrasses observed in Davao Oriental have been studied but generally there are four core families of seagrasses as follows: Cymodoceaceae, Hydrocharitaceae, Posidoniaceae, and Zosteraceae.
