Berlin

• 1946 - Britain, French and americans combined zones to become west germany
• Stalin blockades berlin - June 1948, Stalin blocked supply lines stopping western powers reaching Berlin. Stalin expected Truman to accept loss and withdraw from Berlin completley
• Berlin airlift - Truman ordered aircraft to fly supplies into berlin to bypass Stalin's blockade. People expected planes to get shot down but for the next ten months, Supplies were flown into Berlin until blockade was lifted in May 1949
