  • September 1931 - Japan blamed China for a staged attack on the south Manchurian railway
  • Jan-March 1932 - Japan occupied all of Manchuria renaming it Manchukuo
  • March 1932 - China appealed to LON for help
  • April 1932 - Lord Lytton sent to investigate crisis by league
  • September 1932 - Lytton report condemned invasion and asked Japan to withdraw
  • Feb 1933 - Japan ignored report and invaded more of China
  • March 1933 - Japan vetoed actions of the league and resigned their membership
  • Consequences of Manchuria:
    League looked weak and powerless
    Britain and France looked selfish
    No USA or USSR
    Future aggression foreboded
