Antinous

• always the first to talk
• first to be killed
• openly hostile to T and proclaims he hopes he will never be king
• P tackles him specifically for his attempt on T's life (bk 4)
• she calls him arrogant and an evil schemer
• she reminds him that Ody once saved his life and it is sacrilegious to plot against his saviour
• when Eumaeus and Ody arrive, Antinous is aggressive and further enraged by Ody's story and throws a stool at the beggar
• other suitors fear he might be doomed
• P hopes that Apollo will punish him
• Eurynome wishes for the Suitor's immediate deaths
• he laughs gleefully at the fight between Ody and Irus
• sneers at Eumaeus and Phil when they are overcome with emotion when they see Ody's bow
• calls them snivelling peasants
• has the audacity to blame them for upsetting P
• knows he can't string the bow so suggests they postpone the challenge to the next day, when Apollo would choose the winner
• Apollo does choose the winner - Ody
• Antinous is shot through the next before he realises what has happened
• a thick jet of blood gushes from his nostrils as he dies
