plasma is a straw colour liquid that makes up just about half of the blood volume
the functions of plasma are:
transports carbondioxide from respiring cells to lungs
transports digested food from smallintestine to respiring cells
transports urea from the liver to the kidney
distributes heat around the body
transports hormones to the glands where they are made to target organs
scabs form when blood clots form on a wound
blood contains platelets which help clot blood and prevent blood loss
platelets can stick together to form clumps that get stuck in mesh that is made by platelets as they release chemicals that cause soluble proteins to form mesh across the wound
