  • Peer review aims to allocate funding appropriately, validate qualiry and evidence of research and suggest improvements or ammendments.
  • Anonymity is used in peer review to produce more accurate and honest results as it will prevent biased and inaccurate reviews. If the reviewer knows who the researcher is, they may be biased. If the researcher knows who the reviewer is, they may not want to be completely honest to prevent offense or ruining personal relationships .
  • Publication bias is also known as the file-drawer phenonemnon, where publishers only select the most attention-grabbing headlines that do not accurately reflect the current world of psychology.
