Basic Inequity, Place Value, Rounding, and Decimals

Cards (5)

  • Inequity in math

Making a non-equal comparison. Most commonly this involves using the greater than, less than, or equal to signs.
  • Less than points to the left. Greater than points to the right.
  • Rounding decimals
Discard the numbers after the rounded digit
  • When dividing decimals, if you’ve already brought a number down and the divisor still can’t go into the dividend again you may need to add a zero to the quotient
  • Some decimals continue on forever, making them impossible to write. These are called repeating decimals. To indicate which numbers repeat write a horizontal line over them.
