Dialogue is promoted between different foods in the parable of the good Samaritan. This story is about a man who is a Jew, who was attacked by robbers from his journey from Jerusalem to Jericho and left half dead. First of all a priest past him and didn’t help, then a Samaritan came along whom was despised by jews and seen as an outsider. However when he saw the injured man he was pitiful and decided to look after him.
This promotes dialogue as Jesus redefined the concept of a neighbour as not just being of the same religious faith as you. As a result of this dialogue socialbarriers are broken, as the Samaritan whom was disliked is now a hero.
Why is effective dialogue and interaction important:
To increase mutual understanding
To develop good relationships
Break down barriers between people
Effective dialogue can promote peace and reconciliation in the world today.
