• Minerals - inorganic compounds that are solid, naturally occurring, ordered internal structure.
• Silicates - a group of minerals that contain silicon and oxygen. (Silicon and Oxygen tetrahedrons)
• Oxides - is a compound of oxygen and a metal or non-metal
• Sulfides - contains sulfide and one or more elements, usually metals.
• Sulfates - contains sulfate and one or more metals that tend to evaporate.
• Halides - Ions that contain a halogen atom.
• Carbonates - carbon dioxide combined with other elements such as calcium, magnesium, iron, etc.
• Native Metals - Metals that are found in their native state, not chemically combined with other elements.
• Phosphates - Phosphorus and oxygen bonded together in various ways.
