• Machines - technology used to make our lives easier
• 2 types of machine

• Enumerate 6 types of simple machines

  1. Lever
  2. Pulley
  3. Wheel and axle
  4. Inclined plane
  5. Wedge
  6. Screws
• Lever - pivoted around fulcrum
• Simple machines - a machine that has only 1 or two parts. Can be done or use by solely human power.
• Compound machines - combination of 2 or more simple machines.
• Wheel and axle - contains a wheel and an axle (axle: connects the two wheels)
• Pulley - contains a grooved rim and a rope.
• Inclined plane - a flat surface wherein a part is higher than the other. The higher it is, the better.
• Wedge - an inclined plane wherein slope is considered. The angle of the slope is emphasized. The smaller the angle, the better.
• Screws - an inclined plane with spirals.
