White Blood Cells

• Function: WBC's locate the site of infection and defend the body
• White blood cells are formed in the soft tissue in you bones, bone marrow
• Neutrophils: protect body from infection, kill bacteria, fungi and debris
• Lymphocyte: produce immune response proteins, antibodies, to help fight infection
• Eosinophil: destroy cancer cells and parasites, also assists with allergic response
• Basophil: produces allergic response
• Monocytes: clean up damaged cells
