Pulmonary Circulation: pathway of blood from heart to lungs and back.
Cardiac Circulation: circulation within the heart
Systemic Circulation: path of blood from heart to the rest of the body
Functions: the main functions of the circulatory system include transporting oxygen, carbondioxide and nutrients. The system also maintains a constant body temp. Lastly, the system maintains fluids levels.
Atria: top 2 chambers of the heart, receive blood from the body or lungs
Ventricles: bottom 2 chambers, receive blood from atrium and pump out to lungs or body
Flow of blood: blood flows into the rightatrium from the vena cava, the blood flows into the rightventricle and into the pulmonaryarteries to the lungs. Then the blood runs through the pulmonaryveins and into the leftatrium, then the leftventricle, then to the aorta that pumps the blood to the rest of the body.
