  • blood returns from the body via the inferior vena cava and superior vena cava
  • blood flows into the right atrium
  • then into the right ventricle
  • then out the heart via the pulmonary artery and to the lungs
• left side of the heart-

  oxygenated

  • blood returns from the lungs via the pulmonary vein
  • blood flows to the left atrium
  • then the left ventricle
  • it then leaves the heart via the left ventricle and to the body
