    • Transitive Verb - expresses an action that has a direct object or receiver of the action.
    • Intransitive Verb - expresses an action but does not have direct a object that receives the action. The Subject of the sentence performs an action but not to, for, or against anything or anybody.
    • Linking Verb - connects the subject with the word that gives information about the subject, such as condition or relationship.
    • Auxiliary Verb - auxiliary (or Helping) verbs are used together with a main verb to show the verbs tense or to form a negative or question.
    • What are the two types of auxiliary verb?
      • Primary and modal
    • What are the three primary auxiliary verbs?
      • Do, be, and have.
    • Modal Verb or Modal Auxiliaries - are special verbs that behave irregularly in English and gives additional information about the communicative function of the main verb.
    • Auxiliary verbs have three characteristics which are?
      • They are always followed by an infinitive without "to" (AKA: Bare Infinitive)
      • They are used to indicate modality allowing speakers to express certainty, possibility, willingness, obligation, necessity, and ability.
      • They never change their form. You can't add s, ed, or ing.
    • Modal Auxiliary Verbs include: can, could, may, might, will, would, shall, should, must.
    • Dare, ought to, had better, and need not behave like modal auxiliaries to large extent and can also be modal verbs.
    • Modal Verbs - are used to express functions such as: permission, ability, obligation, prohibition, lack of necessity, advice, possibility, and probability.
    • Linking Verbs - do not show any action; they simply link the subject with the rest of the sentence.
    • Is, am, was, are, were, seems, becomes, and feels is an example of linking verbs.
    • Cyjay got good grades at statistics and probability. This statement is an example of transitive verb.
    • Mel chews so loud is an example of intransitive verb.
    • Jhustine is studying hard. This statement is an example of intransitive verb.
