Acute lymphocytic leukaemia (ALL)

Cards (2)

  • Acute lymphocytic leukemia is a malignancy of B or T lymphoblasts characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal, immature lymphocytes and their progenitors, which ultimately leads to the replacement of bone marrow elements and other lymphoid organs resulting in a typical disease pattern characteristic of acute lymphocytic leukemia.
  • Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is most common in children, especially between the ages of 2 to 5. The risk then declines until the mid-20s and begins to rise again slowly after age 50.
