    • Jane Harrison in her 2007 play “Rainbow’s End” explores the dark side of British colonialism in Australia during the 1950s.
    • It presents to the audience three Aboriginal women living  in the world dominated by white people and experiencing daily racial barriers.
    • Throughout the play, Harrison argues the struggles of Indigenous people who live under the control of welfare policies and inequality from white people.
    • Harrison further illustrates the Aboriginal people getting stereotypes and prejudices from the whites, especially Dolly’s personal ambitions and the generational shift in hopes.
    • The characters of “Rainbow’s End” each represent a different response to the pressures of British colonisation with the same aim of finding an equal possibility in achieving their dreams and aspirations.
