  • To be mentally healthy:
    -being in a (generally) positive state of mental wellbeing
    -having the ability to cope with and manage challenges
    -having a sense of connection with others
  • Mental health problem:
    Adversely affects the way a person thinks, feels and behaves; but typically to a lesser extent and of a shorter duration than a mental disorder.
  • Stress:
    A psychological and physiological experience that occurs when an individual encounters something of significance that demands their attention and efforts to cope.
  • Anxiety:
    A psychological and physiological response that involves feelings of worry and apprehension about a perceived threat.
  • Anxiety disorder:
    When anxiety is excessive and persistent over a long period of time. This can disrupt aspects of daily functioning, and cause an individual to experience lower levels of mental wellbeing.
