    Cards (4)

    • psychodynamic approach

It provides a coherent theory of child development by discussing the psychosexual stages which are determined by age.

However, it stops at the genital stage (teenage years) and sees no further development.
    • cognitive approach

It uses stage theories ( moral development and gender development) which aid our understanding of child development.
    • biological approach

Age and maturation are concepts of the approach in which genetically determined changes in physiology influence behavioural characteristics.
    • humanistic approach & social learning theory
They don't use stage theories of child development but they see learning as continuous occurring at any stage.
