  • isolated small villages are good because the are quiet, peaceful, have lots of space and have low crime rates however, they have a lack of services, house prices are very expensive and commutes to jobs in the city are quite far.
  • Villages in Decline are good because the houses are very cheap however, there are no jobs and commutes to the city are quite far.
  • Small villages on the urban-rural fringe are good because they have large houses ,commuting is close to the city and they are good areas for families as they are near schools. However, the are more expensive and may not have services like doctors.
  • larger villages on the urban-rural fringe are good because they have lots of services and shops, public transport routes, close to the city for commuters and there is cheaper housing. However, they are more popular so therefore more crowded, more conjested and house prices are increasing.
  • Tourist villages are good for lots of services, entertainment (however may only be available in the summer seasons), tourism creates money for local businesses. However, they are conjested, property prices are increasing and it is noisy.

  • A zone of affluence is good because they have a sphere of influence (e.g in queen's road ; motorway, train station, university and Victoria park), larger terraced housing and is gentrified (wealthy).
  • A zone of transition is good because it is near services like shopping centres (e.g. frog island is near John Lewis), the areas are being regenerated and being made useful (new,nice flats) again which is resulting in re-urbanisation; bringing people back to the city.
  • A zone of poverty is good because it has cheaper housing, cultural assimilation and a high percentage of ethnic minorities live there together.
  • A multi-cultural zone is good for existing services for ethnic minorities (mosques/temples) and cheaper terraced housing close to the city centre.
