      Retrospective consent
      Involves partic giving consent after taking part, e.g. if not aware that were subject of investigation.

      If participant is under 16.
    • Deception
      When participants is not told true aim, nor what study entails.
      Not be lied to. But when necessary participants should be debrief and told true nature of study.
    • Right to withdraw
      Informing participants have right to decline to continue at any time.
      Remind of right to withdraw at beginning, during and after.
    • Informed Consent
      Giving participants comprehensive info concerning nature and purpose of study and role.
      Sign consent letters
    • Protection from Harm
      Participants come to no great harm than would encounter in everyday life.
      If distress exp provide counselling.
    • Privacy (Confidentiality)

      Concerns about communication of personal info from one person to another and trust info protected
      Use initials or false name to remain anonymous
