  identification- adopts person beliefs as they want to associate with them

  NSI- conforms with expectation of majority - gain approval

  ISI - gaining knowledge and accepting someone else belies and making your own beliefs

  Linkenbach and Perkins - people exposed to message that majority of their age peer did not smoke were less likely to smoke - change behaviour to fit in
