Prophets

• Prophets - were called and appointed by God as communicators and reminders of His will to Israel
• Amos - spoke of the "dark days of the Lord"
• Hosea - he warned Israel of her infidelity by worshipping Baal

• Second Isaiah - prophesied towards the end of Babylonian exile wherein the great promised of Liberator of Israel or the servant of the Lord was declared
• Deutero-Isaiah - were referred to as the chapters 40-55 of the book of Isaiah
• Haggai and Zachariah - these prophets immerged after the Babylonian exile; they called on the people to rebuild the temple but they became preoccupied with their own affairs
• Joel - gathered the people to an assembly, exhorted them to repent, and made offering to the Lord such as humility and sincere repentance
• Malachi - directed his vocation of calling people to repentance from their sinful ways
• Jonah - known for his story of being eaten by a large fish and brought to the Nineveh, spoke the word of YHWH and warned Nineveh to repent
• Third Isaiah - he spoke about the "new heavens" and "new earth", offering hope and consolation to YHWH's chosen people
